Why Are Some People So Good At Playing The Guitar?

A student of mine asked me this question a year ago, here’s what I said…

“Pure Mad Obsession.

I would play for hours until I feel asleep, waking up with a guitar in my hands.

And then play MORE.

NO ONE and NO THING could distract me.

To the point, my teachers, parents, and gfs would complain and I would transcribe the yelling in my head and try to turn it into a song.

Their ENERGY belonged to me.

And every waking moment HAD to connect to music.

THAT level of obsession and NEVER turning off is what it took, and I knew it.”

Another Frame one should take is to STOP WANTING to be good at something, and…

DECIDE to be good, better yet, be GREAT at something.

Want is Weak.

Decide is to DE-SIDE ALL other options, leaving only the One Path You WILL Take to the First Place Podium.
